Birkenstock uses a variety of durable, high-quality materials. Protect and extend the wear of your footwear with these care tips alongside our care products:
SMOOTH LEATHER
Apply our Leather Conditioner regularly to remove scuff marks and keep the leather supple. Please note: Any dyed leather may transfer some colour.

NATURAL LEATHER/OILED LEATHER
Use our Suede Brush or to remove stains, apply the Footbed and Shoe Dry Cleaner. To restore/maintain the colour, apply our Leather Condition, you can find instructions on using it here.
PATENT LEATHER
To clean, wipe with a damp soft cloth.
SUEDE LEATHER
To protect, apply our Footbed and Shoe Cleaner. Use the wire Suede Brush to clean.
NUBUCK LEATHER
To clean, use the Footbed and Shoe Dry Cleaner or the Suede Brush. To protect, apply our Footbed and Shoe Protector spray.

WOOL FELT
Gently brush with a plastic bristle suede brush or an old toothbrush.

BIRKO-FLOR
Wipe with a clean, damp cloth.

BIRKIBUC
To clean, brush lightly with a plastic bristle suede brush or an old toothbrush.

MICROFIBRE
Brush lightly with a plastic bristle suede brush or an old toothbrush.

METALLIC LEATHER
The metallic finish is a thin foil and is very prone to scuff marks. Avoid staining them with corrosive liquids such as perfume, nail polish remover (acetone), sunscreen and aerosols. You can protect the leather using a neutral shoe polish.

POLYURETHANE
Wash with mild soap and water.

EVA
Wash with mild soap and water. Please note: EVA can shrink at high temperatures.
